The following terms apply exclusively to direct bookings made with Bäcksteinerhof via our website, by email, by phone, or directly with us.
For bookings made through external booking platforms or other intermediaries, the terms displayed and confirmed by the respective booking channel at the time of booking apply.
Book Direct with Our Best Price Guarantee
When you book directly with Bäcksteinerhof, you benefit from our best price guarantee.
For the same dates, the same accommodation, and the same booking conditions, you’ll always receive the best available rate when booking directly with us.
And even more importantly, you’ll be in direct personal contact with us from the very beginning – with no booking platform in between.
Prices & Tourist Tax
The prices stated at the time of booking apply to the selected accommodation and include the services listed there.
In addition, the legally required local tourist tax of currently €2.20 per person per night will be charged. Children and young people under the age of 14 are exempt from the tourist tax.
The tourist tax is not included in the accommodation price and is payable on site. If the statutory amount of the tourist tax changes, the rate applicable at the time of your stay will apply.

Booking & Deposit
To confirm your direct booking, a deposit of 25% of the total booking amount is required.
You will receive the relevant payment details with your booking confirmation.
Once the deposit has been received, your reservation is confirmed and binding.
The remaining balance is payable directly at Bäcksteinerhof at check-out. Alternatively, the full amount of your stay may be paid in advance by bank transfer.
Cancellation
Sometimes plans change. If you are unable to take your stay as planned, the following cancellation terms apply to direct bookings:
- Up to 31 days before arrival: no additional cancellation fees
- 30 to 15 days before arrival: 40% of the total booking amount
- 14 to 8 days before arrival: 60% of the total booking amount
- From 7 days before arrival: 100% of the total booking amount
- In the event of a no-show or early departure: 100% of the total booking amount
Any deposit already paid will be credited against the applicable cancellation fees.
We recommend taking out travel cancellation and trip interruption insurance so that you are well protected in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
For bookings made through external booking platforms, only the cancellation terms confirmed by the respective platform apply.
Changes to a Booking
Changes to the travel dates, length of stay, number of guests, or booked accommodation are only possible subject to availability and prior confirmation by Bäcksteinerhof.
Changes to a booking may result in a recalculation of the total price of the stay.
Arrival & Departure
Check-in: from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Check-out: by 10:00 a.m.
Late check-in is available by prior arrangement for an additional fee of €15.00.
Ein Late Check-out ist ausschließlich nach Verfügbarkeit und vorheriger Vereinbarung möglich und wird mit 25,00 € berechnet.
Please inform us in advance if you wish to arrive outside regular check-in hours.
Pets
Pets are only allowed in designated accommodations and only upon prior request and confirmation.
An additional charge per night applies for pets. Food is not included.
Please note:
- Pets are not allowed in our breakfast rooms.
- Pets are not permitted on the breakfast terrace.
- Pets are not allowed in accommodations designated as allergy-friendly.
Whether pets are allowed in your desired accommodation is indicated in the respective accommodation description and during the booking process.
Non-smoking house
All indoor areas and accommodations at Bäcksteinerhof are non-smoking areas.
We kindly ask you to smoke only in the designated outdoor areas and to be considerate of other guests.
Peace & External Visitors
Our guests particularly appreciate Bäcksteinerhof for its tranquility and personal atmosphere.
To preserve this atmosphere for all guests, external visitors are not permitted in the house.
Bicycles & E-bikes
A lockable bike room with free charging for e-bikes is available for your bicycles.
For safety reasons, bicycles and bicycle batteries may not be taken into the rooms, lofts, or other accommodations.
Accessibility
Bäcksteinerhof has no elevator and is currently not barrier-free accessible.
Please note the location and floor of the respective accommodation when booking. If you have any questions about accessibility, we will be happy to assist you personally.
Special Dietary Needs
As we personally prepare your breakfast, we are happy to accommodate special dietary needs, intolerances, and food allergies.
Please inform us before your arrival if possible, so we can prepare accordingly.
For example, gluten-free products, lactose-free alternatives, or oat milk can be provided upon prior notification.
Additional Services on Request
Some additional services may be offered subject to availability and sometimes for an extra charge, including:
- Drinks and wines available 24/7 from our Honesty Bar
- Breakfast on the day of arrival upon prior request
- Reservation of tickets for the Terme Merano
- Rental of bathrobes and bath towels
- Packed lunch on request
- Late Check-in and Late Check-out

Applicable Booking Conditions
For your direct booking, the prices, services, and booking, payment, and cancellation conditions that are displayed to you at the time of booking completion and subsequently confirmed apply.
For bookings made via Booking.com or other external booking portals and intermediaries, only the conditions agreed upon through the respective booking channel apply.
