From the Merano basin to fresh mountain air in just a few minutes: Merano 2000 is one of our favourite tips for an easy-going summer day. The sunny high plateau combines sweeping views with trails for different levels of ability – from relaxed family outings to more challenging mountain hikes.
1. Start the Day with a View
The journey up is already part of the experience. Whether you take the cable car from Naif or the gondola lift from Falzeben, once at the top you are rewarded with sweeping views over Merano, the Adige Valley and the surrounding peaks. The summer day pass includes the operating lifts – the Merano 2000 cable car, the Falzeben gondola, the Mittager chairlift and the Naifjoch lift – giving you plenty of flexibility when planning your day.
2. Den passenden Weg wählen
Easy panoramic trails lead to mountain huts and sunny places to stop and rest. Those who want to climb higher will find a range of summit tours, while the Heini Holzer via ferrata offers a more challenging option for experienced and properly equipped mountaineers. Mountain bikers and paragliders can discover the area from a completely different perspective.
3. Enjoy South Tyrol from a Mountain Hut Terrace
A day in the mountains does not need a long list of kilometres. Often, a walk with a rewarding destination is enough: the mountain huts around Merano 2000 serve regional dishes, homemade desserts and offer terraces with sweeping views. Especially with children, a relaxing break is often one of the highlights of the day.
4. Finish the Day with a Ride on the Alpin Bob
The Alpin Bob adds a little speed to the end of the day. The alpine coaster is a popular family attraction and combines well with a shorter hike. Those who prefer a more relaxed pace can simply enjoy the views around the mountain station once more.
